Photography has become a staple in modern culture and a binding force that helps bring a diverse world a little closer together. With the rise of social media, we provide others with a peek into our lives and experiences mostly through pictures.
California journalist Fred Barnard coined the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words,” and we feel he couldn’t be more right. Images allow us to save our favorite experiences and moments in time forever, so we want them to be of the highest quality. We understand that finding the right photographer for your event can be extremely stressful, so we’ve scoured Tallahassee to locate the best photographers in the area to make things a little easier. Talent, creativity, and professionalism are no strangers to our top 6 favorite Tallahassee photographers.

Trickey Photography takes pride in their community by working with many local charities including North Florida Boys Town, Children’s Home Society, Girls on the Run, Night to Shine, Oasis, United Way of Big Bend, Independence Landing, Pace, Operation Prom and Florida State University. Naples, FL native, Wade Bishop, bought his first camera from a garage sale when he was a teenager and was instantly hooked. He quickly learned that his love for the visual medium spread into film and video and led him to earn his Associated Degree with a concentration in film and photography in Tallahassee. After college, the Hollywood hills lured him to the west coast where he worked in film and the special effects prop making industry. Wade eventually came back to Tallahassee and worked in news, television production, independent and student films, and photography.
In the last 20 years, he has worked on just about any title on a production; whether it be a wedding photographer to Hollywood movies and just about everything in between. Simply saying he’s well rounded would be an understatement. Wade loves working in the moving picture world and finds that photography sometimes can be more challenging. “For film, you can move the camera to allow more freedom of story telling. In photography, you’re challenged to tell the story in a single image. I like that challenge.”

Stories to Remember Photography is run by husband and wife team, Kimberly and Lee. Their fairy tale story started back in 2010 when they unintentionally met strolling through a park, after being introduced by a mutual friend the night before. Lee had his film camera in hand and they ventured through the park taking pictures together and bonding over life experiences. Mutual love for photography, a vision to treat clients like family, and capturing the true essence of each couple landed these two in love and married by 2014. STR Photography was later established in 2017 and the rest is history.
STR primarily focuses on engagement, wedding, and family shoots, but also capture some maternity and newborn shots as well. They have self coined their style as “vivid storytelling” because they focus on bright, creative, expression-filled images. Kimberly and Lee love what they do and have a passion for becoming a part of their clients memories forever and to help them tell their stories on print. They consider themselves blessed to photograph some of the sweetest, most vibrant couples, families and individuals and find no coincidence that some of their clients have truly become like family.
